Daydream Island

  Today we all slept in, we normally meet up at 8:30am for breakfast, but we didn’t wake up until 8:30am.   I know I was really tired, as I was dreaming all night and felt like I didn’t sleep at all.     We went straight to the pool today from breakfast, so we had to put our sunscreen on around the pool this time instead of in the privacy of our own room. After another long swim in the pool, we decided to get up and try out the jacuzzi.  There were two little boys in the jacuzzie, aged three and five, who were on holiday with their parents.  Of course, as Ivana, Jackie and Jenny are all grandmas, they started playing eye spy with them.  I must admit, the boys are very cute.   After a quick dry off on the sun lounges, it was time for our snorkelling adventure in the reef.   Jackie and I got up early today, as we had organised for 8:30am breakfast.   We knocked on the door next to ours and realised that Lee and Jenny had already gone down to the pool with Ivana. Jackie took a phone call, so that left me waiting, waiting, waiting.   Once again after eating breakfast we got a plate or two of cold cuts and fruits and took them up to the room and put them in the fridge, as we were going to have them for dinner this time instead of lunch.   We also booked the snorkelling tour of the daydream reef, but only three of us could go, as there were only three places left.   We decided that Ivana and I would go, and we would pay for Jackie to go for her 60 th birthday present. Now it was back down to the pool for our first swim of the day.   Nothing exciting happened, it was just another hot day, and we were in the pool for about an hour again, until we found the lollie shop.   Apparently, it was right next to the pool the who...

  It was our first full day on the island. We went down to breakfast about 8:30am. Breakfast was a free buffet. Everything was included, so we made the most of it.  Bacon, eggs, toast, hash brown. Once we finished our hot breakfast we went up for fruit. Watermelon, rockmelon, pineapple, grapes etc. We were a bit cheeky, so when we finished our breakfast, we went and got another clean plate or two and filled them up with bread, cold meat, cheese, fruit and pastry and took them up to our room and put them in the fridge for lunch. The staff saw us walking out with the food, but didn’t say anything. Phew.   I was chatting with Jackie as she didn’t know if she snored or not, so I reassured her that she doesn’t and she turned to me and replied, but you do.   I put the alarm on this morning for 6:30am, so I wouldn’t be late for my holiday.  I had to drop off Chloe at the groomers before I went on my girl’s week away.   I threw my bag in the car and took Chloe down to the groomers and then back home so Pete could take me up to Lee’s place.   Lee had only booked in carry-on baggage for us, so we were panicking about the weight of our luggage. Of course, I thought I would be fine. Ivana had decided we should share one bag to be booked in, so I paid for some of this too. We got to Lee’s place and weighed my bag.  It was 10kilos and we were only aloud 7. Panic.    We started taking things out of my suitcase and the weight didn’t seem to come down.  We decided it must have been the suitcase that was heavy.
